If the word dentures brings to mind a glass of water on a nightstand, it is time for an update. Modern dentures are custom-crafted to your mouth, your face, and your smile. Most people who get them wish they had done it years earlier.
Full vs. partial dentures
A full denture replaces a complete arch of teeth, upper or lower. A partial denture fills in several missing teeth while your remaining healthy teeth stay right where they are, with the partial clipping comfortably into place. During your consultation, we will look at what is left, what is healthy, and which option gives you the best result for your situation.
How the process works
We start with detailed impressions and measurements of your mouth, then design dentures matched to your facial shape and natural tooth shade. You will try them in before they are finished so we can fine-tune the fit, the bite, and the look. When the final set arrives, we adjust until they feel right. The whole process usually takes a few visits, and each one brings you closer to eating comfortably again.
Living with dentures
There is a short adjustment period. Speaking and chewing feel different for the first week or two, and that is completely normal. Start with soft foods, practice reading aloud to get used to the feel, and keep your follow-up visits. Small sore spots are common at first and take only minutes to fix in the office. With daily cleaning and regular checkups, a well-made denture serves you reliably for years.
Missing teeth affect how you eat, how you speak, and how you feel about smiling. You do not have to live with that. Come in for a consultation, and we will show you what modern dentures can do.
